her famous dolphin poke when playing with us or other dogs
racing and doing circles around the house at lightning speed when we played chase with her
mad hops-she could jump SO high for any type of treat
she was the ultimate cuddler and often aggressive little cuddler, especially when you stopped petting her, she would nuzzle your hand with her head and pop her head under your hand for more petting/attention
everyone thought she looked like a puppy, even tho this June 2012 she would've been 10 years old
when going on walks, people would always ask how old our puppy was
people would also ask if our dog was walking us, Roxy LOVED walks or being outside and was also so energetic on the leash with excitement
richard and I would often joke: "Shall we go for a drag?" (vs. go for a walk?) (Roxy would pull us with the leash in such excitement and energy every walk)
she could eat any doggie treat bone, even ones that were half her size and took her 2 weeks, she would somehow chew them down
when we discovered she had a thyroid issue and she started taking her thyroid medicine and losing weight, my dad would comment: Roxy's looking so elegant these days
she loved her thyroid "pill" and would get really excited and jump so high when we gave it to her, since it involved stuffing it into a treat
our morning routines and hanging out with us while we got ready for work
how she looked at richard and me with so much admiration and love
paws up standing on all fours by the passenger window on car rides and gazing out the window

whenever we would chop any type of veggie, she would come racing into the kitchen jumping away right next to the height of the counter, she loved her veggies
she loved playing with her friends-Tucker, Jill, Quincy, Marlow, Roxy, Wiley, Bogart, Oliver, Syds, Cloey and Badge and was always so happy and excited to show off all her toys to her friends
she was an alpha dog-on any hike with Oliver and Sydney she always had to be the leader of the hike and would growl if one of them tried to pass her
when Richard sang the song Roxanne, she would howl along with him
whe loved her spot on the futon- the ultimate window watching spot in our house
when watching a movie or TV she would always cuddle with us and our blankets in the nook of my legs
staring contests- she was always the winner
ultimate lap companion on camping trips
sleeping at the bottom of our sleeping bags by our feet on camping trips (we still wonder how she was able to breathe)
greeting us when we got home from work-she would always be shaking with excitement
barking at us whenever we left our house, not happy we were leaving her but seemed like she was letting us know she would guard the house

her loud snoring during movies or TV watching
she always had to be the center of attention, when we would pet others dogs or gave other dogs attention and she was present she would rush over and make sure we noticed her too
just one of the girls at the dining table and she'd alternate jumping up and sitting on all of our laps
she absolutely LOVED Leavenworth and playing with her "sister" Cloey there and the neighborhood dogs. Her ears would always perk up in excitement whenever we mentioned Cloey around her

Roxy, you will always have a special place in our hearts. Your mom and dad loved you SO much (including our family and friends) and we know how much you loved us. We cherish the happy/fun/loving memories we had with you and you will always be our little girl.

Oh Ellen, I just read this post and cried all over again. I loved little Rox and her nibbles :) I also love how you remembered all of her personality traits here... dogs are like people/kids and this blog post really captured the great dog that she was. XO
