On Saturday Richard and I headed with Matt to Bellingham to spend the rest of the weekend with Jessy's family. Jessy and Rose are the west seattle neighbors that live about 10 blocks from our house, who I've mentioned before in our blog...we often get together with a few couples in West Seattle and do dinners/get togethers. The special occasion for the summer party gathering was for Jessy's parent's 35th wedding anniversary, and also just an excuse to throw an outside summer party. Their 2 friends that lived in the area sang in the background great oldies tunes (A father and daughter duet, so sweet! They sing at the local bars/restaurants up there, and they were so good!) There was dancing, cold beer from the keg, lots of little kids running around including Jessy's nieces and nephews who were so adorable! A delicious bbq and potluck style spread, lots of laughing and meeting new people from Jessy's close family friends. Rose's parents and her aunt Pam and Uncle Ira were also there...who are Casey Abram's parents! It was so fun to chat with them and talk and ask all about Casey. For those of you who don't recognize that name, Casey was the 5th finalist on American Idol, a show that Richard and I watched almost every week with Rose and Jessy when it aired. Talk to his parents was one of the highlight of my evening, that's for sure! The next morning we had a delicious brunch before saying out goodbyes and returning back to Seattle. Jessy and Rose you have awesome families and so happy we got to know them better this weekend...what a fun time! :)
Poor Tucker (Rose and Jessy's Dog) he had a claw removed and a little bandaged cast. Though he was up and about all weekend running around...didn't seem to stop him from having fun and meeting folks!
