Our friend Jesse organized a short boating trip last Wednesday on Lake Union and rented an electric boat for 3 hours. It was great to see some of Richard's friends that we hadn't seen in a while. We got lucky with the weather...at lunch time it was pouring rain, but then after work it started to clear up and it was a beautiful sunny evening (well it rained the last 30 min as we were heading back to the dock, but overall was great!) We cruised around Lake Union, took in the scenery, ate lots of delicious snacks and treats that everyone brought to share, Kimberly and I pointed out ALL of our favorite lake houses/houseboats on the water to each other, and the highlight was Hess spotting a beaver on the rocks in front of the water by Seattle Pacific University! It was huge, had the biggest tail I've ever seen and SO cute with an adorable chubby face. First time I think either of us have ever seen one and so up close! I definintely recommend this outing for work events, family time, or just out for fun with friends. You can fit up to 12 people on these boats, bring food and drink, and just relax/take in the beautiful lake scenery. Here's more info if interested: http://www.theelectricboatco.com/location.html
Our new little buddy we met on our cruise
He really was a lot larger and cuter, this picture doesn't do him justice. It was hard to snap photos on our phones because there wasn't enough light unfortunately!
Here's our group!
One of my favorite lake homes. Look at the awesome roof top deck! Now that's the life :)

how awesome you saw a beaver! i just watched the "beavers" movie at the omnimax at a science center in vancouver. it was super cute, and i'm totally impressed with what those little guys do!
