Richard and I were so lucky this weekend to spend 4 days at shi shi beach for the long holiday weekend. It couldn't have been a more perfect weekend to get away and celebrate my birthday. And we were also SO VERY lucky with the weather! It was sunny ALL 4 days we were there! (With the exception of a little rain at 10 pm on Saturday night, but that was all the rain we got all weekend!) Richard and I left Seattle on Friday morning and arrived about mid day/early evening to the beach. We spent the rest of that day walking along the coast, cooking dinner, taking in the scenery, reading, roasting smores, and ended my birthday evening watching a really pretty sunset accompanied by sangria and beer. I still can't believe we hauled wine, beer, ice and a cooler with us...the backpack weight was enough for our hike to the beach, but I'm sure glad we did...it was so nice to have cold food and drinks all weekend! The next day Lauren and Jim arrived and we spent much of the following days doing the same. Lots of relaxing, sunbathing, frisbee playing, cooking our dinners over a fire, more sunsets, observing the sea life and exploring, reading...it was such a relaxing and peaceful weekend and we were all so sad to leave on our last day. Shi Shi Beach is a magical place and with the sunny weekend almost felt as if we were on a beach in hawaii....not quite the same teal light blue tropical waters, but the same beach life feel!
