happy birthday richard!

Well this weekend we celebrated Richard's 31st birthday, our first as husband and wife, how exciting! :) We started the celebrations actually on Wednesday night with my parents and tried out the irish pub on alki called the Celtic Swell. Fun atmosphere and there was also a live singer.  She was singing so loudly and I think her base was turned WAY up, because towards the end of the night I think we were shouting to eachother in conversation haha.

Then on Friday we started more of Richard's celebration...all...weekend...long. I drove to Everett and picked up a 30 foot RV which a group of us were surprising Richard for our weekend trip. The plan was to all drive up separately to Omak, WA where Richard's childhood friend Jeff Deason lives and he was hosting a pig roast at his place. You should have seen the look on Richard's face when I pulled up next to our house and yelled from the passengar window: "Surprise, we are driving this up to Omak with all our friends!  We've all been in on this for about a month now!" He was very surprised and I was pretty proud of myself for driving the HUGE 30 footer RV all by myself from Everett to West Seattle. Don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon, too much stress and concentration! So happy I didn't hit any cars!  

We piled all 6 of us in our group in the RV and arrived 6.5 hours later in Omak (normally it's about 4.5 hours, but we hit the usual holiday weekend traffic).  Jeff and Crystal's place is gorgeous! They live on a huge property and it was so beautiful and peaceful out there. Here's a short recap of our fun and eventful weekend:

fishing and reading by the lake a few miles from their house, called Green Lake

doing lots of "healthy" eating all weekend-we probably snacked on every type of junk food

driving in the rv all together sure makes the long car ride go by fast!
