This past weekend we went to the North Cascades with Lauren, Jim and Jim's parents who are visiting from the east coast. We camped out next to Lake Diablo Friday and Saturday night. It is such a pretty lake, so peaceful, and with beautiful views of the mountains surrounding it. Saturday afternoon we drove up about 30 mintures through the mountains to a popular spot for back country skiing, hiking and snoeshoeing. Richard and Jim did some back country skiing, while Lauren and I and the parents did some snow shoeing at the base. It was a gorgeous sunny clear blue sky, you couldn't even spot a cloud! The views were awesome everywhere we snow shoed and even more amazing where the boys hiked up to. Rare for Seattle lately...the weekend camping was in the 70s, perfect weather!
